SMP is a specialized cosmetic procedure that mimics the natural appearance of hair follicles by depositing small, layered dots in various hues of black onto the scalp. This replicates the look of a hair
follicles on your scalp, giving the illusion of depth and fullness.

SMP is a form of permanent cosmetics but doesn’t go as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo. On average, the results last between 3-6 years. Over time, the dots can fade, requiring touch-ups to maintain its best appearance.

Most clients describe the procedure as having a series of light pricks on the scalp. Discomfort is often equated to the sensation of a light sunburn. Most clients describe the pain levels at 3 / 4 out of 10.

On average, most individuals require on average 3 sessions spaced about 10-14 days apart between session 1 & 2 and 14- 21 days between session 2 & 3. The process is iterative and layered, allowing for adjustments and the achievement of results.

You should avoid washing your head for the first 3 days post-procedure. After that, you can gently wash with water. After a week, you can use a gentle shampoo.

While many people feel fine to return to work the very next day, some may experience minor redness. This typically subsides within 48 hours.

A skilled SMP technician, using quality equipment and pigments, will ensure the results mimic the natural hair growth patterns and hair colour, offering a realistic and seamless appearance.

Yes, scalp micro pigmentation is considered halal as treatment is performed to address a medical condition or significant psychological distress due to hairloss.

In 2016, the European Council For Fatwa and Research issued a ruling stating that Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is permitted under Islamic law. The justification for this decision lies in the fact that SMP’s purpose is to act as a remedy for a condition, not as a means to alter the body’s appearance.

Absolutely! In fact, this is regarded by many as the ‘optimal solution’. Hair transplantation conventionally works by removing hair follicles already on your scalp (usually from the side and back of the scalp). However, a hair transplant surgeon, no matter how skilled can only transplant hair you already have.

This poses a problem, however, the problem of volume… hair transplants can tend to look sparse especially men with Norwood Scale 7 hair loss, but the implementation of SMP beneath this creates a (surprisingly real!) illusion of depth and volume in the hair.

Scalp micropigmentation prices vary per area treated. Our prices for male pattern baldness are based on Norwood scale of baldness for men and Ludwig scale of baldness for women. Prices starts from £500 for a minor adjustment up to £2000 for Norwood 7 baldness. Work on scars, burns, alopecia clients and stubble pigmentation are POA. Our prices are total prices based on 3 session treatment plan so you will know the costs before we even start. A consultation prior to the treatment will involve analysing your existing hair colour, skin undertones, and discussing your desired outcome. This will help determine the most appropriate shade.

Yes, one of the primary applications of SMP is to camouflage FUT/ FUE scars from surgeries or injuries and to conceal the visibility of transplant donor scars.

After the initial sessions, SMP requires very little maintenance. However, to prolong the vibrancy of the pigment, it’s advised to use sun protection on the scalp and moisturize regularly.

Side effects are rare and minimal. However, potential reactions might include temporary redness, tenderness, or minor swelling.

Yes, traditional tattoos penetrate deeper layers of the skin, whereas SMP targets the upper dermal layer. Additionally, the pigments, equipment, and techniques differ significantly, with SMP specifically designed to replicate hair follicles.

You should avoid consuming alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for 48 hours prior. Keeping your scalp moisturized and exfoliated in the weeks leading up to the session can also aid in the procedure.

You should refrain from any heavy sweating activities for at least 5-7 days post treatment, as sweat can cause the freshly implanted pigment to fade or disperse unevenly.

Quality SMP pigments are designed to retain their colour. However, like all tattoos, some fading can occur over time. Regular touch-ups can help maintain the desired shade and density.

Yes, SMP is versatile and can be tailored for all skin types and tones, ensuring a natural and harmonious appearance.

Absolutely. A proficient technician can blend the SMP with your existing hair, achieving a denser appearance that looks seamless.

Professional training, experience, and the right equipment ensure consistent pigment depth, correct angulation, and distribution for even and realistic results.

If you still have existing hair, growing it out post-SMP will result in an enhanced appearance of fullness and density. The SMP will integrate well with your natural hair growth.

Yes, laser tattoo removal techniques can be employed to adjust or remove SMP. However, this is rarely needed when treatment is performed by skilled and experienced technicians.
